Police: Viewer Tip Leads to Arrest of Man Suspected in Robbery

Police said a viewer tip led to the Tuesday arrest of a man suspected of aggravated robbery at a North Richland Hills motel Dec. 3.

North Richland Hills police contacted local media requesting the public's help in the case Monday. Authorities said a viewer contacted them with information that led to the arrest of 23-year-old Carlton Donvel Farris at about noon.

Officers took Farris into custody after a brief standoff in the 800 Block of East Sanford Street in Arlington, police said.

Police said they suspect Farris of pointing a gun at a Motel 6 clerk in North Richland Hills Motel and demanding money. Motel surveillance video captured a man resembling Farris.

Farris remains in custody at the North Richland Hills Detention Facility on a warrant for aggravated robbery with a $100,000 bond, according to police.
