Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crossing Interstate 20 in Southern Dallas County

A man died Thursday night after being struck by two tractor-trailers while trying to run across Interstate 20 in southern Dallas County.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff's Department, 51-year-old Darren Henry was walking or running across westbound I-20 from south to north, near Camp Wisdom Road, when he was struck by a flatbed tractor-trailer at about 11:25 p.m. Henry was then struck by a second tractor-trailer.

Moments later, Henry was hit a third time by another vehicle.

Neither of the first two tractor-trailer drivers stopped at the scene and no evidence from either rig was found at the crash site, deputies said. The driver of the third vehicle did stop to try to help the man.

"Although it is still very early in the investigation, detectives are looking for anyone that witnessed a person on the highway in that area and about that time, or has knowledge of the fatal crash," the sheriff's department said.
