One Person Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 30 in Dallas, Driver Arrested

Police say they arrested 19-year-old woman in connection with fatal crash

A 19-year-old woman is behind bars Friday, accused of hit-and-run in a fatal crash along Interstate 30 in Dallas earlier in the day.

Dallas police said two vehicles collided on eastbound I-30 near the Good-Latimer Expressway at about 1 a.m.

An SUV veered off the road, crashed through a guardrail and into an overhead sign. Police said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other vehicle involved — a dark Dodge Charger — crashed through the HOV lane gate, according to police. The driver ran from the scene.

Police said they went to the address to which the Charger was registered and arrested the woman, later identified by police as 19-year-old Maria Miralrio.

Miralrio was charged with accident involving death and her bond was set at $25,000.

Only one lane of I-30 was open during the investigation. The ramp from eastbound I-30 to Interstate 45 and U.S. 75 are closed due to the damage to the overhead sign.
