North Richland Hills Home Catches Fire After Lightning Strike

Firefighters say that lightning caused a major fire at a North Richland Hills home Thursday night.

Officials say there were five people in the house including one pregnant woman, but there were no injuries.

The house in the 8400 block of Forest Glenn in North Richland Hills was destroyed in the fire after being struck by lightning around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, authorities say.

Firefighters began to put out the flames inside, but after seven minutes, they used the aerial ladder to control the flames.

They say it was a 2 alarm fire that required backup from South Lake, North Hills, Watoga, Keller and Hurst.
