Motorcyclist, 70, Killed in 18-Wheeler Collision in Prosper

A 70-year-old McKinney man has died after his motorcycle collided into an 18-wheeler that had a forklift on its trailer Thursday morning in Prosper.

Emergency crews were called to the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 380, also known as East University Drive, where Prosper police said the 18-wheeler had pulled into a driveway to make a delivery.

The driveway was not long enough for the entire 18-wheeler to fit, however, and the end of the trailer was partially sticking into the westbound lane.

Police said the motorcycle driver was unable to avoid a collision. He was transported to Baylor Medical Center at McKinney, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Further information has not been released by investigators.
