Dallas Police Officer Hit by DART Train in Downtown Dallas

Dallas Area Rapid Transit officials confirm that a Dallas police officer was hurt when he was hit Tuesday by a DART train in downtown Dallas.

This happened at the Pearl/Arts District station around 12:45 p.m.

The officer was struck by the train while crossing the intersection of Bryan and Olive Street. He was attending a nearby conference at the time of the incident, police said.

DART said the officer was transferred to Baylor Medical Center. He is in stable condition according to Dallas police.[[540099761,C]]

Dallas police say DART will investigate the incident.

On Wednesday, Dallas police released a statement saying the 14-year veteran of the department remains in stable condition and is making improvements. 

DART did suspended train service through the downtown area as crews investigate, but service has since been restored.

The officer is a 14-year veteran with the department.
