A Dallas man with a long criminal record has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after he attacked an elderly relative with a knife, stole her belongings and then fled in a stolen vehicle.
Victor Carl Terry, 37, pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and was sentenced Monday by a judge.
He also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault against a public servant for attacking a detention officer and was sentenced to 20 years in prison in that case. The sentences will run concurrently.
