Officers arrived and found 36-year-old Christopher Cooper dead from a gunshot wound, police said.
Louis Antron Logan, 31, is suspected of the murder and was identified by witnesses, police said in a statement Thursday evening.
A friend of the Cooper's family told NBC 5 that the shooter knocked on the door and shot Cooper in the head. He said Cooper's wife, 5 kids and a nephew were home at the time.
