Police in the Dallas suburb of Garland say an armed intruder was shot to death after breaking into an apartment.
Garland police said that officers responding to the report of a shooting Thursday evening were met by a man who said he'd shot someone who broke into his apartment. Police then found the man who had been shot on the floor of the apartment.
The wounded man was moved to an ambulance, where he died. Officer Joe Harn, the Garland police spokesman, identified the man as 18-year-old Michael Paxton, whom detectives have linked to a previous convenience store holdup.

Harn said three other men were with Paxton. A search for the three continues.
