A 10-year-old girl is recovering after being accidentally shot by her father late Saturday night in the Fort Worth suburb of Colleyville, Texas.
NBC DFW's media partners The Dallas Morning News reported that the girl's father, Steven Johnson, 53, was showing his handgun to visitors at his home in the 1600 block of Doughlass Avenue when it discharged. Police said the bullet went through a wall and hit the girl in the hand.
The girl's mother told NBC 5 that she was released from Children's Medical Center of Dallas and expected to recover.
Officers arrested Johnson and charged the father with injury to a child, police said.
