Fort Worth police said they arrested a man who wrecked a vehicle that had been reported stolen while fleeing officers Monday morning.
Fort Worth Police Department spokesman Scott Conn said an officer noticed a suspicious Honda Accord in the 1500 block of Northpark Drive at about 4 a.m. The officer checked the license plate, which indicated the vehicle had been reported stolen.
The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped away, traveling across several streets before striking a curb and coming to a stop in the 1000 block of Blandin Street.
The 35-year-old male driver was taken into custody and arrested for fleeing and possession of a stolen vehicle. A 43-year-old male passenger was eventually released at the scene.
Police have not yet released the identities of those in the vehicle or a reason the driver fled police.
