Lt. Governor Patrick to Attend Memorial for Dallas Police Officers

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick will attend the Interfaith Tribute to Dallas Fallen Officers Tuesday afternoon.

The tribute is to memorialize the five officers killed Thursday when a gunman ambushed and opened fire on police at the conclusion of a peaceful protest against police violence.

Patrick caught heat earlier this week when he called the protesters hypocrites for seeking police protection when the gunman opened fire. Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings criticized the lieutenant governor for his statements.

In a prepared statement, Patrick asked all Texans support and pray for the men and women who bravely risk their lives for our protection.

The lieutenant governor will also attend a service for each of the five officers throughout the week.
