Denton County man says he was struck on a Fort Worth highway Saturday morning

A Denton County man is asking for help finding the driver who hit him on a busy Fort Worth highway and didn't stop.

John Hardin, of Sanger, said he was traveling southbound on Interstate 35W at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday when he stopped near Golden Triangle Boulevard to check on a flat tire.
"I don't remember much,” Hardin said. “I just remember being in the road and I kind of blacked out from there."
Hardin said he was struck soon after he got out of his vehicle.
"I guess I stepped into the highway a little too far,” he said.
The next thing he remembered, he was in John Peter Smith Hospital with a broken leg, broken ribs, a punctured lung, a herniated disk in his neck and a fractured cheek bone.
"I'd just like to know who did it and why you wouldn't even stop to help somebody,” Hardin said. “I mean I could have lost my life.”
A police spokesperson on Tuesday night could not immediately provide any information about what happened.
Hardin said, so far, no one has provided any description of the hit-and-run vehicle.
