George P. Bush Visiting California for National GOP

George P. Bush is headed to California next week to raise money for the Republican National Committee.

Spokesman Trey Newton said Tuesday that Bush will be in San Francisco and Los Angeles May 27 and 28.

The 38-year-old, Spanish-speaking attorney from Fort Worth is the overwhelming favorite to become Texas land commissioner in November. But he's also seen by top Republicans as a rising star who can help the party better appeal to Hispanics and young voters.

Bush is grandson of one former president and nephew of another, and his father Jeb was Florida governor and may run for president in 2016.

Bush's famous surname has made him much-sought-after in national fundraising circles. In March, he went to Florida on behalf of Sen. Marco Rubio, another possible future presidential candidate.
