Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen a crash that left a little boy critically injured.
Jaylyn Jackson,12, was on his way to play basketball Wednesday afternoon when he tried to cross North Country Club Road near Meridian Way and was hit by an SUV.
A 36-year-old Rowlett woman driving a black SUV hit the 12-year-old on his bike. Police said the boy was thrown at least 10 yards from his bicycle.
While Jackson fights for his life, his family and friends have been coming back to the place he was hit, putting up signs of encouragement.
"I still want him to be here with us because there's a lot of people who care about him and like we still want him with us," said Jackson's friend from school Jerry Flores.
The accident happened in front of the Northlake Baptist Church where members said Jackson recently started playing basketball and eating lunch there.
"He was a lover of basketball and carried that basketball wherever he went," said Pastor John Carl. "Simply, whether we knew him or not, the reality that somebody in this community was hurt so badly so close to where we are serving, it just breaks your heart."

Police said Jaylyn likely pulled out in front of traffic, but police are searching for anyone who actually saw what happened so they can figure out which direction the boy was coming from.
"We think there's a possibility there another vehicle traveling the same direction that may have kind of blocked the view of both Jaylyn and the driver of the vehicle that hit him and if that person is available we would certainly like to talk to them," said Joe Harn with the Garland Police Department.
The community will be praying for his recovery.
" I wanted to say to him that he can be like very brave, please survive where he is and like I'm not the only one who still wants him to be alive," said Flores.
Police said the driver was not speeding or on the phone. No charges have been filed against the driver.
