Police said they arrested a man after a chase through Dallas County Monday morning.
Garland police said officers tried to stop the minivan for expired registration near the intersection of Texas 66 and East Centerville Road, but the driver fled.
Dallas police officers and a police helicopter assisted in the pursuit that ended when the driver crashed into a parked car near the intersection of Ash Lane and Graham Avenue at about 4 a.m.
Authorities said they found methamphetamine and heroine inside the vehicle and took the man — later identified as 44-year-old Alberto Lopez — into custody.
No further details have been released.
