Phillip Huffines released the following statement announcing his candidacy for chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party:
Fellow Dallas County Republicans,
I wanted you to be the first to know that today I am announcing that I am running for Chair of the Dallas County Republican Party. I’m writing to you to pledge my full commitment to this office, and asking you to place your confidence in me.
2016 is going to be a challenging election cycle, and to put the Dallas GOP back on the right track, I will to commit 100% of the time, effort, and resources that are necessary for Dallas County Republicans to be victorious.
We need decisive, conservative leadership in the State of Texas, and it must include a Dallas County Republican Party that is efficient, professional, and most importantly, well-funded. To achieve that, we must immediately prove to Republicans in North Texas that our party is a good investment to advance the Republican cause.
Additionally, we must get back to basics and deploy a strong grassroots operation that coordinates closely with national, state, and local campaigns to ensure all Republicans win in Dallas County up and down the ballot. Field operations, advertising, targeting, voter identification, and turnout programs need to be aggressively funded down to the precinct level. This must happen immediately.
We must meet the Clinton Campaign, Texas Democrats, and Dallas County Democrats head on in order to achieve victory. Our precious liberties as Americans, and as Texans, depend on it.

Now, more than ever, it is critical that those in leadership roles fully commit to the success of our party. Together, I feel confident that we can unify the Dallas GOP against big government liberals who threaten our pocket books, family values, and our way of life.
As a life-long Republican, I have a fervent passion for our causes. Since 1976, I have been active in Republican political campaigns- including as a volunteer for the campaigns of Ronald Reagan and Bill Clements. Since then, I have remained active in the world of the GOP, serving as a delegate to several state conventions and as a Texas delegate to the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida.
My experience in the business world – from my first job at Getty Oil after graduating from UT-Austin to now creating and owning multiple large businesses – have taught me the crucial analytical and financial skills needed to run and manage a successful county party. Turning Dallas County red will require an intricate understanding of fundraising, connection-building and organization - all skills I have spent my career refining.
I am asking for your confidence and your vote to be the next Chair of the Dallas County Republican Party. The cause is great, the time is now, and our mission is not yet complete. Together, we will defeat the Democrats in Dallas County. Thank you.
Let’s do this together,
Phillip
I look forward to reaching out and hearing from everyone about how to improve Dallas County in 2016 and for our future.
