Frugal Friday: Great Gifts for Less than $10

One of the fun things around the holidays is giving and getting little presents between friends, coworkers, maybe teachers. But all those little gifts can really add up.

If you don't have time to find a lot of little gifts, we've done all the legwork for you. Here are two of my favorite brick and mortar stores and a few online stores that have great gifts for less than 10 bucks.

Hobby Lobby

If you're buying a gift for a co-worker or someone you don't know well, gifts for the home are great. What I love about Hobby Lobby is they have weekly sales offering 50 percent off.

There's a sign at the front of the store with a handout of that week's sales.

While I was there this week, I found pretty candle holders priced at $5. Hobby Lobby also has a wide assortment of photo frames that range from traditional to quirky. They're always 50 percent off.

Choose a traditional frame for someone you don't know well or quirky personalized frame for a close friend. Use a picture of a special moment and you have a special, sentimental gift for under $10.

Some of my favorite items are gifts for men. From fantastic fun signs for the man cave, to resin football players that are perfect for kid's football coach, if you apply a coupon or wait for the weekly half price sale, you can get most items in the men's section for less than $10.

The smart Hobby Lobby shopper knows to use your phone and checkout. That's because Hobby Lobby always has a coupon for 40 percent off a regular price item. See the coupon here.

Kirkland's

This is one of my favorite spots. When I got married almost 20 years ago, I got gifts for my entire wedding party and seamstresses here. Each was lovely, personal and less than $10.

Today it's my go-to for teacher gifts, co-worker presents and hostess gifts. I found plush throws on sale for $10, as well as sweet night lights shaped like an apple with the words, "live, love, teach" for $5.

They have sweet journals with the words, Best Teacher Ever, on sale for $5. My favorite are wine glasses with the inscription, After School Snack. Those are $10. I had a coupon for emailed to loyal customers for 25 percent. I bought 16 gifts for my kids' teachers for $63.42. That averages less than $4 per gift.

I found a pretty candle holder for $10, a Star Wars mug for $6.99, a wine stopper for $5.99, and gloves you don't have take off to use your smart phone for $9.99.

If you haven't signed up for Kirkland's email list for extra coupons, consider downloading the free spin to win Kirkland's app. It allows you to collect one coupon per day to use on your entire purchase. Combine that with sale items, and you get the best bang for your holiday buck.

Other sites we found online, The Simple Dollar, Good Housekeeping, and Etsy all have great gifts for less than $10.

I must mention that none of the stores or sites mentioned in this story paid to be included.
