Bicyclist Dies From Injuries After Being Hit by Car: Police

The crash happened Saturday at 5 a.m. in Frisco

A McKinney bicyclist hit by a car Saturday was taken off life support and died Wednesday morning, police say.

According to the Frisco Police Department, a car hit Joseph Orzo, 35, while he was riding his bicycle in Frisco Saturday around 5 a.m. Orzo was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Frisco in critical condition with severe head injuries.

Frisco police reported Wednesday that Orzo was taken off life support and died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Orzo was struck from behind by a vehicle traveling the same way he was in the 10100 block of Independence Parkway. [[486740541, R]]

Police said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Orzo remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Police are still to investigating the crash and no charges have been filed at this time.
