Collin County Has Highest Voter Turnout Percentage in Texas: State Officials

With days to go, the race for the White House is as tight as it's ever been, and early voters are turning out in record numbers in North Texas.

Collin County leads the state in the percentage of registered voters who have already cast ballots. According to the Texas Secretary of State's Office, more than 50 percent voted early in Collin County.

The question now is how high will the numbers go?

"This is a record-breaking year in Collin County. We have already voted almost 300,000 voters, which is an all-time record. Started from the first day of early voting and every day after that has been very heavy, heavy turnout," said Collin County Elections Administrator Brue Sherbet.

Sherbet says his staff will spend the next few days preparing for Election Day.

About 30 percent of voters in Collin County are expected to cast ballots on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
