Ramiro Silva Miranda is charged with aggravated assault on a public servant.[[399381381,R]]

Police said Miranda was driving a red 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup that was pulled over Oct. 30 in the 4300 block of West Jefferson Boulevard.

The officer determined Miranda lied about his name and provided a false identification card, so the officer opened the driver's door and requested that he step outside.

Miranda then accelerated, while the officer was holding the door, police said.

The officer, identified as Daniel Dominguez, was dragged approximately 15 feet by the truck and then run over by a rear wheel while the driver fled the scene.

Dominguez was treated at Methodist Dallas Medical Center for a broken ankle and several abrasions, and later released.

Dominguez has been an officer with the Cockrell Hill Police Department since 2011.

Police said Miranda was located at a home in Tool, in Henderson County, Wednesday morning following a tip from an informant. He was booked into the Henderson County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
