The City of Arlington broke ground on a new $30 million library in downtown Tuesday.
The groundbreaking ceremony and reception for the George W. Hawkes Central Library took place at Arlington City Hall -- adjacent to where the new library will be located at Main Street and S. Center Street.
The old Central Arlington Library was demolished last summer, making way for a new multi-story residential development.
