3-Year-Old Found Unresponsive in Pool Pronounced Dead

A young child has died after he was found unresponsive in an above-ground swimming pool Wednesday evening in Haltom City, medics and police say.

Emergency crews were called just before 9 p.m. to the 3000 block of Katrine Street, where they began CPR on the 3-year-old boy, according to Haltom City police.

The child, identified as Sebastian Solorio-Carranza, was rushed to Cook Children's Medical Center in critical condition. He was pronounced dead the following morning, according to a report by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.

In a statement released late Wednesday, Police Chief Keith R. Lane said police are investigating the incident, but it does not appear any criminal charges will be filed.
