Infant Found Dead Inside Car, Garland Police Investigating

Garland police are investigating after a 10-month-old girl was found dead inside a car at a car wash Thursday.

The girl, identified as Victoria Tran, was discovered by her father at about 5:15 p.m. in the 3300 block of Arapaho Road.

Officers on scene said the Tran was inside the car for an unknown amount of time, but investigators said it's too soon to determine how Tran died.

Tran was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives interviewed the father and other witnesses Thursday.

"I just saw him running to the fire truck, running around the fire truck trying to catch up to it. I saw a baby in his hands," said car wash employee, Jime Sanchez.

Pedro Barinaeu with Garland Police told us investigators are trying to put together a timeline to determine how long the girl was in the car.

"Any death is sad. A situation where a child is found deceased, that’s sad as well," said Barinaeu.

No charges have been filed at this time.
