A police officer in rural Central Texas has been fired after being charged with fondling a girl under the age of 17.
The city council in Crawford voted Tuesday night to fire William Byrom due to the ongoing case.
KWTX-TV reports that Byrom is charged with indecency with a child by contact.
An arrest affidavit accuses Byrom of touching the victim's breasts multiple times last year.
Byrom is free on $20,000 bond. He declined to comment to KWTX, and a phone number was not listed for him in Crawford, about 25 miles west of Waco.
