Car Involved in Crash in Dallas After Possible Bank Robbery

A suspected bank robber leading police a chase Wednesday morning slammed into another driver before trying to escape on foot.

Dallas police said officers began chasing the driver of a tan SUV following a reported robbery at the Bank of America branch at about 10:45 a.m. in the 6200 block of Gaston Road.

As the driver tried to elude police, he collided with another car at the intersection of Greenville Avenue and Mockingbird Lane at about 11:30 a.m.

With the getaway vehicle disabled, the suspected bank robber tried to escape on foot but was captured a short time later. Dallas Fire-Rescue said the driver of the other vehicle was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life threatening.

Dallas police closed Mockingbird between Matilda Street and Greenville Avenue while the scene was cleared and investigated.
