Baylor Releases Former Commit Brandon Bowen

The DFW native held offers from schools like Michigan and OU

Brandon Bowen, a defensive end who attended Byron Nelson High School in the DFW-area, will be released from his National Letter Intent. This was recently confirmed by Baylor University officials.

Bowen joins J.P. Urquidez, Kameron Martin, Parrish Cobb, Patrick Hudson, and the Duvernay brothers (Devin and Donovan), as commits who have been released from their NLI since the firing of former head coach Art Briles and president Ken Starr.

Brandon Bowen held offers from the universities of Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas Chrisitian Univeristy, among others. He could become the fifth member of Baylor's 2016 class to join the University of Texas, if he chooses to commit there. He would bolster what is becoming one of the stronger classes in the Big 12 and help Charlie Strong avoid the hot seat, if he takes his talents to Austin.
