A pilot died in the East Texas crash of his single-engine plane after the aircraft hit some power lines.
The Department of Public Safety said 62-year-old Ronald Vickers of Arlington died at the scene, near a landfill between Longview and Kilgore.
DPS Trooper Roy Tower described the plane as "experimental," or home-built.
A landfill worker discovered the wreckage Monday afternoon.
AEP Southwestern Electric Power Co. spokesman Scott McCloud said the plane made contact with the power lines.
