Abbott Calls Paris Attacks ‘An Assault to All of Humanity'

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is calling the attacks in Paris "an assault to all of humanity."

A series of attacks on Friday night in Paris targeting young concert-goers and those out at popular nightspots killed at least 127 people. Americans were among the 200 wounded, the State Department said on Saturday.

French President Francois Hollande vowed a "merciless" response against the perpetrators, as ISIS claimed responsibility.

Abbott said Friday night that the "despicable attacks in France are an assault to all of humanity, and the world must unite to condemn acts of terrorism on every front."

He says he's spoken with the Consulate General of France in Houston "to offer any and all assistance on behalf of the State of Texas."

He added, "Our thoughts and prayers remain with the victims and all those affected in France."
