The American Airlines Web site went down today -- a second day of inconveniencing customers trying to book flights or check reservations.
American says a technical team is working on the problem, but it is not clear what caused the outage.
A placeholder page at aa.com directed visitors to call the airline's reservations centers.
American says customers who do so won't be charged the customary fee for using call centers.
A late afternoon check showed the American website up and running.
