According to police, a utility worker found the bones in a wooded area near the 1300 block of North White Chapel Boulevard on Monday.

"It's creepy. I'm curious to find out what's going on," said John Gould, who has lived in Southlake for two years.

"I joke that Southlake is like Mayberry. I mean, it's just All-American, family-oriented, safe, small-town America," he said.

Detectives said the bones appeared to have been at the location for some time.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office said an anthropologist is at the scene possibly collecting more bones. Officials had no other information about the bones, other than that they are human.

Determining the person's age, gender and identity will take more time and officials have not said when they hope to have more information about the person's identity.
