UP Line in Benbrook Reopens After Derailment

A Union Pacific Railroad line in North Texas has reopened after nine cars and two locomotives went off the tracks and one crewmember was hurt near Benbrook and Aledo.

Company spokesman Mark Davis said Friday that the injured worker has been treated and released.

Authorities are trying to determine what caused the crash before dawn Thursday in an area about 15 miles southwest of Fort Worth. No cargo spilled in the incident involving a train bound from Tucson, Ariz., to Dallas.

Davis said the line reopened Thursday night.

Union Pacific is based in Omaha, Neb.
