The weather is on just about everybody's mind for the holiday weekend, especially those expecting to walk and run Thursday in Fort Worth.
The annual YMCA Turkey Trot will go on no matter what Mother Nature may bring.
Rain or shine, thousands will lace up their sneakers to run or walk on Thanksgiving morning.
"This is my first (Turkey Trot) and I have done minimal training for it," said Hannah Forst. "So really my goal tomorrow is just to finish."
Forst will be running the 10k and will be among the expected 13,000 taking part in that race, the 5k or the 1k. The races start at 8 a.m., a few hours before rain is expected to roll in and stick around for days. However, race organizers aren't concerned.
"Rain or shine, we're going to be there. It's going to be fine," said race director Christ Butler. "The course will be great, temps will be good."
Even then, most runners aren't deterred by the rain. In fact, it may even be a benefit.

"If people ask me why I ran so slow I'm going to say, 'Oh, it was because I didn't want to fall,' clearly," Forst said.
It's a silver-lining in the clouds on this holiday weekend.
While the race won't be spoiled, window shopping downtown might be dampened a bit.
"It's definitely a busy time for us," said Brooke Mitchell, owner of Coyote Urban Boutique in Sundance Square.
Holiday foot traffic is an important component of customers for downtown businesses. The threat of rain on Black Friday and then Shop Small Saturday isn't ideal.
"It's a really special weekend for us, so I'm a little bit nervous that it's supposed to rain all weekend," Mitchell said.
By late Wednesday morning, the outdoor clothes rack had to be brought in thanks to the first sprinkles of the rain event. The rack often lures customers into the store, but Mitchell suspects while some may shop, nevertheless others will stay home.
"It's definitely going to affect some traffic this weekend, unfortunately," she said.
But patrons can always shop her store online, Mitchell points out.
So while some events will go on as planned no matter the weather, others will see an impact.
