Friends and family fondly recalled the zest for life and knack for clumsiness of an aspiring sports journalist who was one of 12 people killed in a shooting rampage at a movie theater in Colorado.
Mourners on Saturday packed the two-hour memorial service for 24-year-old Jessica Ghawi at Community Bible Church in San Antonio.
They laughed and cried as they celebrated the smart, pretty, redhead's positive and energetic spirit.
A statement from Ghawi's mother described her as a "jolt of lightning, a whirlwind, a Labrador puppy running clumsily with innocent joy."
Her brother, Jordan Ghawi, encouraged everyone to act on their dreams as his sister did. He called the shooter a hate-filled "coward" but looking at the crowd he said "imagine what we can do with this much love."
