Store Owner Killed A Day Before Renewing Vows

Store co-owner shot to death behind counter

The co-owner of a convenience store was shot to death just a day before he was to renew his wedding vows.

The Star-Telegram reports that 44-year-old Ehab Shiber has been identified as the victim of the fatal shooting Thursday at the Village Food store in Fort Worth.

On Friday evening, the store's small parking lot was filled for a vigil. His brother, Elias, said the family appreciated their presence.

Police said Shiber was behind the counter when a man entered, shot him multiple times and robbed him. No arrests were immediately made.

The store's other owner said Shiber and his wife had planned to renew their wedding vows Friday after more than 17 years of marriage.
