Retail Gasoline Prices Across Texas Up 9 Cents This Week

Retail gasoline prices across Texas have jumped 9 cents this week to push the average cost at the pump well above $2 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the statewide average price per gallon reached $2.07. That compares to nationwide retail gasoline prices at $2.23 per gallon, an increase of 8 cents from last week.

The association survey found that drivers in Dallas and Fort Worth are paying the most for gasoline in Texas, at $2.14 per gallon. The cheapest gasoline statewide is in San Antonio, at $2 per gallon.

AAA spokesman Doug Shupe says February typically marks the start of seasonal refinery maintenance in preparation for the busy summer driving season.
