Dallas police continue to search for a man they say tried to run down one of their officers.
Police were responding to a second family violence call at an apartment in the 4700 block of Ledbetter.
Police said Joseph Alford was driving away when he accelerated and swerved in the direction of a Dallas police officer. That's when his partner pulled out his gun.
"The officer, fearing for his partner's life, shot multiple times into the suspect's vehicle," said Lt. Andy Harvey of the Dallas Police Department. "However the suspect continued to drive off."
Investigators say Alford crashed the car outside the apartment complex gate and ran away.
Alford is still on the run, police say he'll be charged with Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant.
Neither of the two officers were injured.
