Dallas Police announced a $10,000 reward for the safe return of 9-month-old Daijsa Weaver, whose parents said was kidnapped from their Far North Dallas apartment. The reward, offered by Schepps Dairy, is also good for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
“We’re back to square one in the case,” Dallas Police Sr. Corporal Kevin Janse said. “We have minimal leads, tips, or evidence in the case.” Daisja’s mother, 19-year-old Tamaira Creagh, claims a man broke into their Far North Dallas apartment Tuesday night when the father was not home, tried to sexually assault her, then snatched her child. But detectives were skeptical from the start, saying Daijsa’s parents offered conflicting accounts as to what happened.
Investigators are hoping a $10,000 reward will buy them valuable clues in the case. “We are hoping someone needs a few extra bucks and will point us in the right direction,” Sr. Cpl. Janse said. So far, police have combed the couple’s Preston Oaks apartment complex and another North Dallas neighborhood along Marsh Lane where the couple was moving to, the night Daijsa disappeared.
Daijsa’s mother, who is pregnant with her second child, has publicly expressed her frustration with Dallas Police. “We are as frustrated as she is,” Sr. Cpl. Janse said. “We have no evidence to tell us where to search.”
Daijsa’s mother said the kidnapper was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and her daughter had on a purple t-shirt and a diaper. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call police. The reward money is good for a period of 6 months.
