Dallas police are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian Monday morning.
According to police, a 45-year-old woman was crossing Northwest Highway at Preston Road, in the crosswalk, when she was struck by a cement truck at about 8:30 a.m.
The woman died at the scene.
Dallas police said the driver, a 37-year-old male, told them he was making a turn from Preston Road to Northwest Highway and had a green light when he hit the woman.
Sgt. Frank Katani, with the Dallas Police Department, said the driver was coming from a nearby construction site and did not have a load in the mixer.
Investigators are hoping witnesses and cameras can help determine if the woman had the right of way in the crosswalk at the time of the collision.
