A man is suspected of killing his mother at a home in The Colony early Monday, police say.[[344103102,R]]
Rusty Kelley, 46, is charged with murder in the death of his mother at a home in the 4800 block of Sunset Circle.
Police said they were called to the home at about 1:15 a.m. on a report of a possible assault in progress. When the officers arrived, they said Kelley was leaving the home and covered in blood.
Kelley allegedly told the officers that he had just killed his mother.
The body of 76-year-old Yougja Kelley was discovered inside, police said, with apparent blunt force trauma and stab wounds.
Rusty Kelley was booked into The Colony Jail, and it was not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
Police said the motive for the murder is still unclear and remains under investigation.
