Man Fatally Shot at The Colony Home, Brother Arrested

The retired soldier who stood at attention for hours at the Dallas police memorial honoring the July 7, 2016 shooting victims was shot and killed by his brother, police say.

The Colony police said they responded to a disturbance call at a home in the 5200 block of Ragan Road at about 5:20 p.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound on his chest.

The victim — later identified as 34-year-old Chandler Davis — was transported to Medical City Plano where he was pronounced deceased.

Davis was a retired U.S. Army combat medic, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Police said they took the victim's brother, 38-year-old John Davis, into custody. He was charged with murder and held in the Denton County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
