The campgrounds at the Texas Motor Speedway opened Saturday morning letting race fans stake their claim for the next weekend's big race.
The green flag drops on the Dickie's 500 at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.
On Saturday morning TMS reported a half-mile long line of campers waiting to get into the speedway to claim their spot in the unreserved campgrounds.
Jimmie Johnson is the current leader in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chase for the Championship standings.
