Fort Worth Police Officer Comforts Dog After Crash

A Fort Worth police officer was captured comforting a dog that was in a car involved in a crash Thursday morning.

Police said a driver was distracted by the dog, drove his car onto a curb and struck a tree near the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and 26th Street at about 8 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries, but was not transported to a hospital.

Police said the dog — named Charlie — was scared when they arrived, so Officer Bradford retrieved it from the back seat and comforted it until a relative of the driver arrived.

No further details were released.
