Field of Toilets Draws Fort Worth Neighbors' Ire

A collection of six broken toilets dumped in an otherwise empty field near a northwest Fort Worth subdivision has drawn the attention of neighbors.

“It made me think that it made the place look trashy,” Robbin Knapp said, referring to the field of toilets next to her otherwise upscale neighborhood.

Knapp said she first noticed the discarded toilets around Christmas.

The toilets, as well as several weathered boxes from toilet manufacturer Western Pottery Group, are lying in a grass field along the 9600 block of Wagley Robertson Road, beside the WatersBend housing development.

A representative for Plantation Homes, the builder selling home sites for the subdivision, told NBC 5 that it would not make sense for a subcontractor to “go out of their way” to dump unwanted toilets in the field, because dumpsters are provided on-site.

A spokesperson for the City of Fort Worth said late Monday that codes enforcement would be made aware of the situation.
