Donation Brings Afternoon Snacks to Middle School Students

Students at Kirkpatrick Middle School in the Fort Worth Independent School District will have some new treats in the classroom when they come back from the holiday break.

It's part of a push for afternoon snacks.

Nancy Paluch, a school staff member, said sixth graders eat lunch so early in the day, that by afternoon they're hungry and can't focus on their studies.

Developer KB Homes donated $1,000 so the school can buy snacks for the children for the first six weeks of 2018. Paluch said she hoped another donor steps forward to furnish snacks for the rest of the school year.
