Crash Closes Northbound Lanes of Dallas North Tollway

All lanes reopened shortly after 4 p.m.

A big-rig crash on the North Dallas Tollway closed most of the roadway near Galleria Dallas Thursday.

The crash took place at about 10 a.m. just north of Interstate 635 when the big-rig flipped over and onto its side. A car was trapped underneath the trucks' trailer while an SUV was apparently knocked over the concrete divider and into the southbound lanes of the tollway.

The driver of the car, Greg Neece, was transported to Parkland Hospital and is in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.  The conditions of the SUV driver is not yet known.

The driver of the big-rig is expected to be charged with failure to control speed.

The crash closed the northbound lanes of the DNT at I-635 and reduced traffic in the southbound lanes to one lane from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cleanup took several hours while officials unloaded the truck's cargo of compressed cardboard and removed the vehicle from the roadway.

Drivers should expect significant delays in the area through rush hour as the traffic backup clears.
