Brewer HS Briefly Placed on Lockdown Thursday

Assault leads to search, lockdown of high school

Brewer High School in Fort Worth was briefly placed on lockdown Thursday morning after a student assaulted another.

According to district officials, a student entered a classroom at about 8 a.m. and assaulted another student.

At 8:24 a.m. the campus was placed under a full lockdown to search for the student who committed the assault.

District officials said that since school begins at 7:57 a.m., "the lockdown was conducted in order to clear the halls and search for the student."

After a search of the entire campus, the student was not found and is no longer on campus.

The parents of the assaulted student were notified and the student was picked up by his or her mother.

Officials have not said what led to the assault.
