Collins Street Bridge to Reopen Monday

After five months, the Collins Street bridge over Interstate 30 in Arlington will soon reopen to drivers.

The bridge was torn down and rebuilt as part of a $166 million freeway makeover and will reopen on Monday, just in time for the next Dallas Cowboys home game on Thanksgiving Day.

The missing bridge has caused headaches and detours for many drivers in the area, especially during highly-trafficked events at Cowboys Stadium. The Texas Department of Transportation said the opening means drivers will no longer face a nearly half-mile circular detour around the crossover.

TxDOT said the area will remain a work zone as other improvements are made to roadways near the new $1.2 billion stadium.
