Airlines Drop Change Fees to Mexico

Swine flu forces changes to policy

Major U.S. Airlines announced new ticket policies Sunday, allowing travelers to reschedule trips to Mexico without paying fees to make ticket changes due to the threat of swine flu.  The changes follow government warnings about travel to Mexico, where swine flu has prompted international health concerns.

American Airlines' new policy will allow passengers with tickets to Mexico from April 26 to May 6 to re-book at a later date with no change fees.

American will also allow travelers to change their destination to avoid travel to Mexico for no additional fee.

Delta Airlines will allow customers to re-book tickets for travel between April 26 and May 4 for no additional fee.  Or, if travelers choose to cancel the trip, they can use the value of the ticket toward the purchase of another ticket within one year.

Airlines including United, and US Airways also listed revised policies and travel advisories on their Web sites Sunday.
