The driver of a UPS big-rig lost control on the eastbound side of Interstate 30 near Cesar Chavez Boulevard around midnight, crashing into a concrete barrier and rupturing a fuel tank, police said.
"Dozens" of gallons of fuel were spilled, according to police.
The crash scene was cleaned up quickly, but the leftover fuel caused a mess for cleanup crews. It took about five hours to get the entire scene cleared. Only one lane of I-30 was open while crews mopped up the fuel.
Crews avoided a major traffic mess by getting the interstate open around 6 a.m.
No one was injured in the crash.
